Il monumento commemorativo del bicentenario della caduta della meteorite di Renazzo è stato inaugurato il 13 gennaio 2024, in occasione delle celebrazioni per il duecentesimo anniversario dell’evento.
Il monumento si trova in piazza, nel centro del paese di Renazzo. È composto da una colonna di acciaio che accoglie al suo interno una replica del frammento maggiore della meteorite, visibile attraverso 3 aperture vetrate. La replica appoggia su un piatto rotante che permette di osservarla nella sual completezza.
Il monumento è un’opera di arte contemporanea che vuole celebrare un evento straordinario, che ha lasciato un segno indelebile nella storia di Renazzo, al contempo si pone l’obbiettivo di proiettare nel futuro, tramite le nuove generazioni, il ricordo dell’evento cosmico.

The monument commemorating the bicentenary of the fall of the Renazzo meteorite was inaugurated on 13 January 2024, on the occasion of the celebrations for the two hundredth anniversary of the event.
The monument is located in the square, in the center of the town of Renazzo. It is composed of a steel column which houses within it a replica of the largest fragment of the meteorite, visible through 3 glass openings. The replica rests on a rotating plate which allows it to be observed in its entirety.
The monument is a work of contemporary art that wants to celebrate an extraordinary event, which has left an indelible mark in the history of Renazzo, at the same time it aims to project the memory of the cosmic event into the future, through the new generations .
